The Netsys 9 Volt Power over Ethernet (PoE) Adapter (NP-100PD9) delivers data and electrical power (9V DC) to access points, IP cameras, and other network equipment using standard Category 5 Ethernet cable. This eliminates the need for electrical cable and power converters at each remote location.
The Netsys NP-100PD9 Power over Ethernet Adapter is ready for plug and play installation right out of the box and requires no tools or software. The Netsys PoE Adapter is lightweight and it's compact size means you can locate it virtually anywhere. The NP-100PD9 transfers data on Category 5 Ethernet cable pairs 1/2 and 3/6. Power (9V DC) is transmitted on unused Ethernet pairs 4/5 and 7/8. It has an operational range up to 328 ft./100m, a requirement of the Fast Ethernet standard. For longer distance applications, the NP-100PD9 can be coupled with the Netsys HyperXtender PoE Plus Kit (NVF-200POEKIT) to provide broadband data speeds and remote power over a single twisted-pair of network or phone grade cable.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a method where power is transmitted to Ethernet-connected equipment (VoIP telephones, wireless access points, security cameras, etc.) from the central location.
