The Netsys 4-Band VDSL 24-Port Managed IP DSLAM provides the ideal networking solution for office buildings, schools, and industrial campuses by combining layer 2 and 3 switching features with the ability to extend Ethernet connections up to 6,200 feet (1.9 km) over existing phone lines.

The Netsys HyperXtender Enterprise Networking solution including the NVF-2400S Netsys 4-Band VDSL 24-Port Managed IP DSLAM with extended distance Ethernet and NVF-200R 4-Band VDSL CPE Modem delivers everything needed to quickly distribute network connections and high-speed Internet access throughout office buildings, schools, and other campus environments over existing phone lines. The NVF-2400S is a fully managed layer 2 switch that offers quality of service (QOS), link aggregation dynamic trunking groups, multicast, security, GVRP, IGMP for VOD (video on demand), SNMP RMON and web-based switch network management. The NVF-2400S provides high and low priority queuing per port based on 802.1p QOS. The NV-2400E provides security through 802.1Q port-based virtual local-area network (VLAN) and supports port based network access control. The NVF-2400S’s Gigabit Ethernet Uplink Port connects to a Router or Ethernet Switch and acts as the bridge to the network for end-users connected through the NVF-2400S's 24 extended distance Ethernet ports. The second Gigabit Ethernet Uplink Port may be used for cascading additional NVF-2400S units or connecting to a video-on-demand server or other IP capable system for distributing content to the end-user. For higher density applications, up to four NVF-2400S units may be cascaded to provide a 96-port extended distance networking solution. For larger applications and to address all networking requirements, standard Gigabit Ethernet Switches can be used to provide additional expansion.

The NVF-2400S can be configured on a per-link basis to support 5Mbps up to 6,200 feet (1.9 km), 15Mbps up to 4,333 feet (1.3 km) and 25Mbps up to 2,700 feet (0.8 km). The NVF-2400S’s bandwidth management feature allows each extended distance Ethernet link to be rate controlled for speeds from 100 Kbps to 5/15/25Mbps. This unique feature allows the service provider to customize each link based on distance and desired end-user bandwidth. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) feature can be utilized as an indication to the service provider as to the quality of the link between the NVF-2400S and the NVF-200R 4-Band VDSL CPE Modem. Additionally, the NVF-2400S features built-in POTS/ISDN splitters, which enable your existing phone services to share the same phone line, thus adding convenience and minimizing overall implementation cost. The POTS/ISDN lines and extended distance Ethernet links connect to standard RJ-21 connectors on the front of the NVF-2400S and are broken out on the end-user side by the NVF-200R 4-Band VDSL CPE Modem, which features one 10/100 Ethernet Port and one POTS/ISDN Port.

The intelligent web-based management software, allows for streamlined configuration of the NVF-2400S, as well as NVF-200R 4-Band VDSL CPE Modem through a single IP address. The NVF-2400S provides comprehensive hardware diagnostics and is easy to maintain. The NVF-2400S unit is two rack-units high, 14.75-inches deep (298mm) and can be easily mounted in a rack/cabinet or placed on a desktop. The resulting compact, cost-effective form factor allows IT Managers and Systems Integrators to build high-density extended distance networking solutions, which require very little space.
