The Netsys HPNA Ethernet Converter (NH-300SP) provides a cost effective, standards-based HPNA Converter for home phoneline networking, hotel/motel, and multi-tenant applications. The NH-300SP is compatible with Netsys HPNA Products and other standards-based HPNA products such as Broadband Routers with integrated HPNA capabilities.

The NH-300SP is HPNA 1.1 compliant and comes ready to plug and play out of the box for distances up to 1,640 feet (500m) at the default line rate of 1Mbps. The HPNA Ethernet Converter operates over existing phone lines or network grade cable (1 twisted pair) and features dual Ethernet ports and a built-in POTS/ISDN splitter to allow telephone (POTS/ISDN/PBX) service over the same phone line or cable. The NH-300SP's Line port is connected to the RJ-11 telephone jack of the 2-wire twisted pair phone line (or network cable) connection extending throughout the home or from the central office location. The Phone port connects to the RJ-11 port of a telephone set or fax machine and the two (2) RJ-45 Ethernet ports connect to a NIC, hub, switch, or other network devices including IP phones.

When used in a home phoneline networking application, one (1) NH-300SP converter is typically located at the router/switch location and one (1) NH-300SP is located at each computer/network device location to create a point-to-point or multipoint network over existing phonelines for peer-to-peer networking and sharing Internet service connections. When used with Broadband Routers with integrated HPNA capabilities, only one (1) NH-300SP converter is required at each computer/network device location.

When used with the Netsys 8-Port HPNA Concentrator (NH-800SP) in hotel/motel or multi-tenant environments to provide High-Speed Internet Access (HSIA), the NH-300SP is typically placed at the remote network device location and can be mounted on a desktop or under the counter. The 8-Port HPNA Concentrator (NH-800SP) includes the capability of configuring each HPNA port to line rates of 700Kbps or 1Mbps (default).
